If you're looking to add a spring-loaded tarp arm system to your dump trailer or dump truck, this friction brake is exactly what you need to control winding speed to keep the tarp handle from 'free-spooling' and spinning out of control while the tarp arm system extends over your dump bed. When installed and used correctly, this friction brake allows the user to uncover their load by cranking the handle, while also allowing the tarp arm to be slowly extended to cover the load when needed.
A #10 roller chain (part #3013299) is required to add this friction brake to a manual hand-crank system.
This friction brake (along with a #10 roller chain) can be used to convert an existing electric tarp system into a hand-crank manual system. The friction brake can be mounted at ground-level to make it easier for the user to open & close their tarp arm system.
Additional accessories include a steel (5544621) or diamond tread aluminium (5544622) chain guard, and a 3/4" shaft tarp crank arm drive assembly w/ 18-Tooth sprocket (3024748).
Compatible with all 3-spring, 4-spring and 5-spring systems.
