Buyers Products SaltDogg® 2.5-5.5 Electric Auger Spreader gives contractors and municipalities a heavy duty electric spreader ready for commercial use. The spreader is designed for use with dump bodies or flatbeds with a minimum 13,000 lb GVW (gross vehicle weight) chassis, depending on size of spreader. It works with bulk salt or a 50/50 sand/salt mix.
The electric spreader offer a balance between the convenience and value of an electric spreader and the robust volume traditionally found in gas and hydraulic spreaders. The low maintenance auger design provides consistent material flow and control.
The highly corrosion-resistant 12GA(.105”) 304 stainless steel welded hopper comes equipped with two top screens with 1/4 in bars. The 5-1/4 inch variable-pitch auger is covered by an inverted V to reduce stress on the drive line and improve material flow. The welded hopper also includes a bracket for easy installation of the optional 3012081 400lb vibrator.
The 5-1/4" variable pitch auger is driven by a 3/4 HP, 12V motor, and the spinner is powered by an independent 1/2 HP, 12V motor. An 18 in. poly spinner casts material 2 ft to 30 ft. Three adjustable baffles allow you to adjust the spread pattern. The chute and spinner assembly flips up or detaches completely, tool-free, for convenient bulk unload, easy servicing, and access to the hitch.
The spreader includes a heavy-duty in-cab electric controller with independent auger and spinner adjustment and a vibrator and pause button.
